Mashpee runs on Open Town Meeting — the purest form of self-government in America, where residents, not politicians, set the budget and make the rules. Every registered voter may attend, speak, and vote; the Annual Town Meeting is held in the spring. The meetings below are open to the public. The single most effective thing any resident can do is walk into the room.
